Kodai Senga pitched like his dominant self in his return to the mound.In his first Mets rehab appearance, the 31-year-old struck out six in 2 2/3 hitless innings for the High-A affiliate Brooklyn Cyclones on Wednesday night.Senga’s 35-pitch scoreless outing marked his first time facing hitters in-game this year after being sidelined with a shoulder injury in spring training.The velocity on Senga’s pitches looked much as they did during his last year’s NL Rookie of the Year runner-up campaign in 2023, regularly hitting 97 with his fastball and generating whiffs with his signature forkball, cutter and curve.Wednesday was a particularly monumental step considering there have been a slew of setbacks during Senga’s healing process....
