Jordan Love limps off field on final drive of opener in potential Packers nightmare

The Packers might have more than a Week 1 loss to worry about.Not only did Green Bay fall in Brazil to the Eagles, 34-29, but franchise quarterback Jordan Love appeared to suffer a lower-body injury on the final series of the game, limping off the field with help from the team at Corinthians Arena.

With the ball near midfield and under 20 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, Love looked to heave one deep but narrowly avoided a sack as the Eagles broke through the Green Bay offensive line.Though he was able to lateral the ball for a a 4-yard pickup  to running back Josh Jacobs, Love went down hard as the Eagles defense surrounded him.

The Packers training staff attended to him as he stayed down on the ground.He eventually came off gingerly, getting support from two staffers.

After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters he was not certain about Love’s status or a potential injury.“I don’t know.

I don’t know,” he said, per ESPN.Backup Malik Willis took over for the final two plays, throwing an incompletion before taking a game-ending sack.Once players converged on the field after the final whistle, Love did not immediately get up from the Packers bench, where Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts met him for a final handshake.

Peacock cameras showed Love getting help off the field and into the tunnel after that moment.Love, on the heels of signing a $220 million contract extension in the offseason, finished the game with 260 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the loss....
