He earned his spot in the final by beating friend and fellow American Frances Tiafoe over five thrilling sets on Friday night.Sinner, a controversial figure heading into the US Open, easily earned his spot in the final after a semifinal against No.25 Jack Draper.

Ahead of this year’s US Open, it was revealed Sinner tested positive for trace amounts of the anabolic steroid Clostebol twice in an eight-day period in March; he was not suspended, but was docked ranking points and prize money.Whoever wins the US Open will also become a cool $3,600,000 richer (and the runner up will still take home $1,800,000).This afternoon, the final match airs live on ABC and ESPN+.
