Tyreek Hills teammates Calais Campbell, Jonnu Smith tried to help Dolphins star during pre-game detainment

Several of Tyreek Hill’s concerned teammates tried to help the Dolphins’ star receiver while he was detained by police outside Hard Rock Stadium before Sunday’s season opener against the Jaguars.Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on NFL Network that defensive lineman Calais Campbell and tight end Jonnu Smith “were very supportive and very upset” while Hill was handcuffed and laying on the ground over a driving violation, adding that Smith was “distraught” over the incident.“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police.He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement.

“Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support.Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that the 30-year-old Hill was cited for reckless driving after speeding and got into a verbal altercation with police after being pulled over.“It’s very upsetting … to see the way he was treated,” Rosenhaus told NFL Network.
