Jets Morgan Moses likely avoids the worst with knee injury

It sounds like offensive tackle Morgan Moses has avoided a season-ending knee injury.Coach Robert Saleh said on a Friday morning conference call the early prognosis “is decent,” but there are still tests left to determine the exact severity.

The 33-year-old Moses hurt his knee late in the third quarter of the Jets’ dominant win over the Patriots. The Jets traded for Moses, sending the Ravens a pair of mid-round draft picks this offseason, to shore up the offensive line. For the time being, rookie Olu Fashanu will start in place of Moses.Saleh felt the first-round pick performed well on Thursday after Moses went down. “He did a good job.

He played the right side and jumped in there,” Saleh said.“It was kind of a luxury when [Moses] got hurt.

You’re sending out a first-round pick.He did good.

He’s been getting a lot of reps in practice. “Obviously, with the plans that we have for those two tackles and again he’s another guy that we’re looking forward to seeing getting better and better every week.”Middle linebacker C.J.Mosley (bruised right big toe) missed the win over the Patriots.

Saleh is confident he’ll be able to play against the Broncos a week from Sunday. “We’ll see once we get back on Monday, Tuesday, how he is feeling on Wednesday, but I feel like if this was later in the year, got to have a game and he would … been able to go,” Saleh said.“But it wasn’t worth it to make such a small injury worse.

In the grand scheme of things [it] probably wasn’t worth it.”With Thursday’s win, the Jets completed a dizzying early stretch of three games in 11 days with two wins.Saleh tweaked the schedule ahead of the game against the Patriots — moving the walkthrough times until later starting on Monday — and liked the results.
