Exclusive | Post reporters attend Mets game wearing Trump MAGA hat and pro-Kamala gear heres how they were treated at Citi Field

They’re not calling foul on political speech. Citi Field is safe for politicking — despite a Trump supporter recently claiming stadium staff barred her from watching America’s pastime while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.A pair of Post reporters tested the Mets’ political tolerance Tuesday during a game against the Nationals, with each wearing a T-shirt stumping for either former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, along with a MAGA hat or a blue “Kamala Harris 2024” cap. Many staffers who bleed blue and orange were thrilled to see MAGA red. “Ayy, make America great again! I love it!” one security guard told the Trump-garbed scribe at the stadium entrance before letting her skip the process of having her bag checked. The Harris-dressed reporter received a chillier welcome, with security saying he would have to leave his backpack at a mobile locker outside before entering the stadium. Other staffers throughout the ballpark gave positive, unprompted comments about the bright red political symbolism.“Oh, a Trump supporter? Don’t worry, me too,” a young concessionaire said, before handing over a generous pile of french fries and a hot dog.   Not everyone, however, was thrilled by the purported Trumper. Some fans blew raspberries as the MAGA-clad reporter passed by, and a disapproving usher ribbed her over the former president spreading rumors about Haitians eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. “Just making sure you’re not eating any dog,” the usher sniffed while eyeing the reporter’s food tray.

The opinionated employee also told the Harris-repping reporter, “I like your shirt.” The political apparel’s acceptance was an about-face from just a few weeks prior, when Trump diehard Aura Moody, 64, claimed she and a friend weren’t allowed to enter the ballpark with their MAGA hats.“A Mets employee was mistaken about our attire policy,” the team said in August.Additional reporting by Dean Balsamini...
