Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, is not concerned about the couple’s 44-year age difference.“I don’t think about it,” Hamrick, 37, said in an interview with The Sunday Times published Sept.22.

“Everyone’s going to have their opinion,” the former professional ballerina added.“If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyze it.”“I put the blinders on.

Jagger, 81, met his current girlfriend in February 2014 at a Rolling Stones concert in Tokyo.Hamrick, then 26, got tickets to the show as an American Ballet Theatre dancer.

Hamrick recalled that Jagger greeted her with a fist bump when they met backstage.The following month, Jagger’s girlfriend of 13 years, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, died by suicide.

Jagger started dating Hamrick that summer.Hamrick told The Sunday Times that she was not starstruck by Jagger when their relationship started.“Ballet dancers meet some of the biggest stars and act, like, ‘Who are you?’ Because, to us, ballet dancers are the gods.That’s who you study and look up to.

You’re so in your world,” she explained.The interview also revealed that the couple splits their time between a rented townhouse in New York City and a château on the Loire River in France, where their son Deveraux, 7, goes to school.“Mick can’t stay put and I’m similar,” Hamrick said.“I’ll say, ‘I want to stay put.’ Then after two weeks, I’m, like, ‘Where are we going?’”Jagger and Hamrick welcomed Deveraux in 2016.“Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted,” said a rep for the couple in a statement at the time.
