Burger King reveals 3 fan finalists for $1 million Whopper contest

One Burger King fan really can have it their way.The fast-food chain opened a contest in February where fans could submit their own Whopper recipe — and now customers can try the finalists for themselves.BK’s first-ever Million Dollar Whopper Contest saw burger lovers submitting ingredients for their dream Whopper with a chance to win $1 million and see their sandwich sold in restaurants nationwide for a limited time.Now, Burger King and its “team of flame-grilled experts” have selected three finalists after reviewing more than 1 million submissions from guests who “let their imaginations run wild.”The three fan-created Whoppers will be available at participating restaurants nationwide while supplies last later this fall, and diners will be able to vote for their favorite.The finalist with the most votes for their million-dollar idea will get the grand prize.The finalists were narrowed down to:“The Million Dollar Whopper Contest was all about taking ‘Have It Your Way’ to the next level, and we were blown away by the thought and creativity that went into the Whopper creations that were submitted,” Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer for Burger King North America, said in a statement.
