New video shows Chandler Jones trying to call Tom Brady during run-in with police

Police body cam footage from former NFL star Chandler Jones’ detainment by police during a mental health visit showed him trying to call his former Patriots teammate, Tom Brady, while handcuffed on Nov.27, 2023.

In the eight-minute video, which was obtained Tuesday by TMZ, officers from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (Ariz.) arrived at Jones’ home to check on him after they said some people were concerned about him — and then one officer said they were taking him to a mental health facility.“I’m calling Tom Brady right now,” Jones, who was wearing just his underwear and socks, said in the video as he had the call on speaker.

The footage does not show Brady picking up the call.Jones and Brady were Patriots teammates for four seasons and they won a Super Bowl together in 2015, when New England beat the Seahawks, 28-24.

Jones also asked if he could call his brother, UFC star Jon Jones.Police arrived at Jones’ home after receiving a court-ordered mental health petition.Prior to Jones mentioning Brady, the veteran pass rusher was seen sobbing to police about an unnamed woman he said he was intimate with, who was there during the police visit.

The All-Pro defensive end claimed the woman’s dogs bit him, but said he didn’t want to press charges against her.“Can we talk a little more Mr Jones … just about what’s going on because apparently some people are concerned,” said one officer, who appeared to be wearing the body cam.Jones’ attitude shifted after that.“You could leave.

Get the f–k out of here.” At one point, Jones sat on the ground and told the officers he was not willing to talk to a doctor.“It kind of hurts me as a celebrity to come to my mansion and someone is telling me to go to a psych ward,” he said.
