Some residents in ex-city COVID czar Jay Varma’s lefty Brooklyn neighborhood say they don’t care he hosted raunchy drug-fueled sex parties — but did it have to be during the pandemic?“I’m not here to slut-shame, but [the people at these parties] were literally spreading COVID more” than the public, Park Slope parent Jennifer Valentine told The Post on Tuesday — the day after the disgraced doctor was booted from his private pharmaceutical job over the scandal.“He increased the chances of spread, which is totally irresponsible, even if he didn’t violate any mandates,” she said of Varma’s sex and drug parties and attendance at a packed Wall Street rave during the height of the deadly period — when he was the city’s point-man on how to handle the crisis.Another resident in Varma’s affluent neighborhood — where the median house price is more than $1.5 million — said, “I don’t care what anybody does, be poly, have multiple partners.“But to be right here on the block with people who are immunocompromised, there’s obviously a risk involved with COVID and spreading it,” said the woman, who noted she is immunocompromised and had to spend nearly four years essentially isolating during the pandemic.“He’s a hypocrite,” she said of Varma.“I had to sacrifice seeing my son because I was worried about COVID.”One passer-by yelled out to The Post, “Let [Varma] do what he wants in his own time” but added his choice of timing for his wild partying was “poor.”Varma was caught boasting to a woman about his cringe-worthy antics on secretly recorded tapes made in August and which surfaced last week.
