Ukraine drone spares Russian soldiers life, takes him prisoner in dramatic battlefield video

A Ukrainian drone, sent on a bombing run to kill a Russian soldier, instead provided aid for the enemy before taking him as a prisoner.Hunkered down in a trench underneath a dirt arch, the Russian survived five separate grenade explosions dropped by the drone, during what is believed to be a late summer’s day on a battlefield in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.Upon return to the battlefield, the drone — manned by the K-2 Battalion of Ukrainian Army’s 54th Brigade’s — discovers the Russian soldier lying on his back, hands together, pleading for his life to be spared, according to dramatic footage shared to social media.“Returning after reloading, our pilot saw that the occupier wanted to surrender,” the video caption read.The pilot, seeing the pleas, dropped the deadly ammunition.The soldier began moving in the “wrong” direction, forcing the drone pilot to block his path.The “exhausted enemy” collapsed and began begging for water as he couldn’t walk further.The drone’s pilot dropped a bottle of water and a note, as the Russian fighter made a sign of the cross, thanking the drone for sparing his life and providing the water.“Follow the drone on top of the trenches,” the note read.The soldier followed the drone out of the battlefield, falling several times to rest, even asking for a smoke break.At one point the fighter’s comrades shot at him as he rested.“The Russian’s path through an open field.In it, our soldiers repeatedly stopped enemy offensives and destroyed vehicles,” the battalion said.The drone eventually led the fighter to a trench, where Ukrainian soldiers captured the “enemy stormtrooper.”...
