Reality TV star broker Fredrik Eklund snags $3.35M NYC condo: This will be one of downtowns it buildings

Reality television star and real-estate broker Fredrik Eklund has purchased a $3.35 million condo at 64 University Place, according to city Department of Finance records filed this week. The under-the-radar, new-construction building comes with 28 units and sold out, off market, sight unseen “pretty immediately,” said Eklund, a top broker with Douglas Elliman.Eklund told Gimme his fourth-floor unit is around 1,400 square feet, and comes with two bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms.

While Miami is now his primary residence, this will be his New York base.“We are working on the closets and interiors now,” Eklund said.

Eklund’s business partner at Douglas Elliman, John Gomes, bought a similar unit in the building as an investment, Gomes told Gimme. Both units feature hardwood floors, 10-foot-high ceilings and arched double windows that open to Juliet balconies.

The building also includes two $20 million penthouses that come with terraces and sold for more than $5,000 a square foot, Eklund said.“This will be one of downtown’s ‘it’ buildings,” Eklund said.

“There are arched windows, and lots of brick — the romance of old New York, but highly amenitized.People love it.” He added that there’s already a wait list of 150 people who want to know if a unit becomes available for rent or purchase.Building perks include a “secret” garden with a waterfall, a gym, a lounge, a rooftop with an outdoor kitchen and a 24-hour doorman.Added Gomes: “I think this is one of the best projects we’ve ever done.

It has great layouts and it’s in a great location. We were involved from the beginning and kept it under wraps.

People are so surprised. It’s been very well received and I’m glad to be a part of it.” The developers are Argo Real Estate and Bsafal Inc.
