Malik Nabers provides update after suffering concussion in TNF loss to Cowboys

Giants fans can breathe a little bit easier Friday morning.Star receiver Malik Nabers provided a positive update in the early hours Friday morning after being ruled out with a concussion in the fourth quarter of the 20-15 home loss to the Cowboys.Nabers recorded his second 100-yard game in four weeks before exiting, catching 12 passes for 115 yards.“All good,” Nabers wrote in front of a praying hands emoji.“Thanks for all the prayers!!!”The Giants’ seventh straight loss to the Cowboys on Thursday came with the added gut punch of Nabers suffering a concussion on the Giants’ second-to-last drive.On a fourth-and-six play at the Giants’ 45-yard line in a 20-15 game, quarterback Daniel Jones targeted Nabers on the sideline for the 15th time and the receiver could not hold onto the ball while falling hard to the turf.Nabers laid on the ground for an extended period before finally exiting and heading into the blue medical tent, eventually being ruled out.The Giants received the ball back at their own 41-yard line with 28 seconds remaining and no timeouts, but without Nabers’ presence the drive went nowhere and ended in a Jones interception.Coach Brian Daboll did not have any update after the game, saying the rookie was meeting with doctors and he would see him after his press conference.“I hope he’s OK,” Daboll said.Nabers will have to be cleared to return to the field in Week 5 when the Giants visit the Seahawks and it helps that the Giants have three extra days of rest before that matchup.The Giants’ offense is already quite limited and losing Nabers, who by virtue of having one extra game leads the NFL with 35 catches for 386 yards, to go along with three touchdowns, would make what already figures to be a tough road game even more daunting.“I think he’s doing some good things,” Daboll said of the rookie’s performance.
