SNL pokes fun at Mayor Adams federal indictment: You want your mayor in coach?

“Saturday Night Live” poked fun at Mayor Adams and his historic legal problems — joking that it all stems from him wanting to turn the Big Apple into a “swag-tropolis.”Devon Walker portrayed the embattled mayor on the season 50 premiere, scooting in on a chair as Michael Che mentioned Adams’ federal bribery and corruption charges during the weekend update segment.“Honestly, I’m feeling relieved,” Walker’s Adams said when asked about his standing as the first-ever New York mayor indicted on charges.“Really?” Che asked — to which the pretend mayor admitted, “No!”Stating he is “an innocent man,” Walker’s Adams said: “I mean look at me, my fingers are steepled, my smile is optimistic, and my vocabulary is officious…“Do I look guilty to you, Michael?” he asked — to which Che replied, “I mean, yeah, kinda.”The skit then poked fun at the mayor’s fondness for socializing.“I’ve spent every single day with the working people of this city — the dancers, the bottle girls, Fat Joe.And they all say the same thing: ‘Thank you for bringing swagger back to the city!
