Islanders give possible opening-night hints for trio of forwards

Reading into preseason lineups is a perilous activity at the best of times.But the Islanders offered up some reason for intrigue on Monday.There was Maxim Tsyplakov’s debut in the top six.There was Julien Gauthier getting a look at the fourth line.And there was the conspicuous absence of Pierre Engvall.All this in a sloppy 4-3 win over the Flyers that featured a full lineup of NHLers — one that might just be representative of where things stand for opening night on Oct.
