Garrett Wilson: Jets offensive struggles about execution not identity

The Jets entered Week 4 with a chance to go 3-1 for the first time since 2015.Instead, they sputtered in a 10-9 loss to the Broncos, and though there have been some questions about the offense, one superstar said the team doesn’t need wholesale changes — it just needs to execute better.Receiver Garrett Wilson said Tuesday on ESPN Radio’s “Bart & Hahn” that the Jets’ offense, which has had some ups and downs this season, understands its identity.

He did say, however, that the Jets need to execute better.The Jets, rank 21st in points per game at 19 and 18th in passing yards per contest at 203.3.“I don’t think we do a lot of different stuff to be honest,” Wilson said.“I watch football on Sundays and I see a lot of teams run, mix it up and stuff like that.

I don’t think we do that.I think we know our identity.

It’s just about going out and executing it or figuring out if it’s going to work.But I don’t think we’re trying a lot of different things.“I know, personally, my route tree hasn’t been what it has been the last two years as far as the stuff I’ve been running.
