Tim Walz oddly highlights inflation, saying Trump doesnt actually know high prices under Biden-Harris admin

YORK, Pa.— Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz took aim Wednesday at Donald Trump, bizarrely suggesting the former prez hasn’t been inside a grocery store in decades and “doesn’t actually know” the high prices of groceries under the Biden-Harris administration.Speaking at a rally in York, Walz dismissed as a publicity stunt Trump handing a Pennsylvania woman $100 for groceries during a stop in the Keystone State last month.“I would bet you any amount of money that’s the first time he’s been in a grocery store since 1985,” Walz said.

“I guarantee you that.”“He never went into that grocery store,” the Minnesota gov continued.“He doesn’t actually know what the cost of those things are.”Trump handed the woman, who was at the checkout with her three sons, the $100 bill inside the Kittanning store to lower her bill.

“We’ll do that for you from the White House, all right?” the ex-prez added. It’s strange Walz decided to highlight that moment, which focused on the inflation surge under this administration.Trump and other Republican politicians often point to the high cost of groceries and other goods as a direct effect of massive federal spending pushed by President Biden and congressional Democrats.

Walz’s running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris, was the tiebreaking vote in her party’s favor on several of these spending initiatives — such as the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.Walz also lit into J.D.Vance, accusing his GOP counterpart of “gaslighting” the American people about Trump’s record as president during Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate.“Senator Vance is a slick talker, but I also called out there, you can’t rewrite history,” Walz said.“And trying to mislead us about Donald Trump’s record, that’s gaslighting,” Walz said, referring to their exchange about the Jan.
