American Airlines passenger puts seat stealer on blast and back 27 rows: Felt good

It felt almost as good as sitting next to an empty middle seat.An American Airlines frequent flier shared the moment they witnessed a seat stealer get her comeuppance when she was knocked nearly 27 rows back to her assigned seat — much to the delight of other passengers.A Redditor who said they fly nearly every week for work shared a list of things their fellow flyers do that annoy them in under the r/americanairlines subreddit.

“Always trying to take seats that are not theirs, holding up boarding or just being plain rude,” they began their now-viral rant. The poster revealed they saw a woman who had purchased seat 35B make herself comfortable in seat 8C beside her mother.A few minutes later, the real owner of the seat arrived and noted that the woman was in the wrong spot.

The seat stealer attempted to smooth-talk the real 8C passenger into swapping seats, according to the post.“The seat stealer then says, ‘Can you just move to my seat as I want to sit by my mother.’ The person [whose seat] it was asked what seat is it and the seat stealer says 35B,” the Redditor wrote.

“I don’t know what came over me, but I blurted out, “Are you f–king serious?! Move to 35B from 8D? You’re crazy,'” they added. The outburst caused other passengers to laugh at the would-be seat stealer, who grew flustered and fled back to her rightful spot after being told no again by the real 8D passenger.

“So seat stealer had to get up and head to the back, glaring at me as she did so.As she glared, I told her, ‘You can glare at me all you want, but [you’re] a– is still going back to 35B!’ ” the Redditor wrote.

“Felt good to put seat stealer in her place.Small victories matter!”The comments on the thread were quick to praise the unknown passenger and seat defender.

“I LOVE kicking seat thieves back to their spot. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine,” a flight attendant for another airline revealed.
