Mark Vientos brings Mets NLDS party to Game 1 of Liberty final

Mark Vientos brought the Mets’ playoff celebration in Queens to the WNBA Finals in the borough next door.The Mets third baseman was one of the many stars in attendance for the Liberty’s 95-93 Game 1 overtime loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night at Barclays Center, and he got a hero’s welcome.

The scoreboard hanging over half-court showed a replay of Vientos’ first home run in Game 2 of the NLDS before going live to Vientos, who was wearing a black baseball hat and sunglasses.As the camera panned to the slugger, the large Brooklyn crowd roared in excitement before he gave a peace sign and heart hands, eventually clapping for all the applause and cheers he was getting from the packed house.It’s been a wild ride for the Mets and Vientos, who clinched their spot in the NLCS after a thrilling Game 4 win over the Phillies on Wednesday night.
