Bob Costas rambled on in odd Kevin Bacon-Aaron Boone comparison in final ALDS inning

The Yankees and Royals were providing enough drama in ALDS Game 4 in a tight ballgame on Thursday night in Kansas City, and fans were on the seats watching.Bob Costas, the legendary broadcaster, thought it was a good time to bring up actor Kevin Bacon.

Baseball fans were not exactly thrilled.In the top of the ninth inning and the Yankees up by two runs in the ninth inning, Costas, on the play-by-play call for TBS, started likening Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s life to the movie game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” in the sense that the skipper — who has a long lineage of baseball playing and coaching relatives — is not many degrees of separation removed from most MLB teams over the last half century or so.
