Lakers barreling ahead with Bronny James plan despite troubling preseason

It’s been a rough start to Bronny James’ NBA career.Through three preseason games, James has been one of the worst players in basketball, averaging less than a point on 1-of-11 shooting and missing all four of his 3-point attempts in 12 minutes per game.Scoring on the offensive end hasn’t been his only problem. James has turned the ball over five times while dishing out just one assist.He put up a goose egg in six minutes of action on Thursday night in Milwaukee — going 0-for-4 from the field without a rebound, assist, block or steal, either.On Sunday, James turned the ball over four times in just 13 minutes of play. The Lakers have been atrocious with him on the floor, getting outscored by 40 points in 36 minutes with Bronny in the game, which is the worst plus/minus of the 494 NBA players to see action in the preseason through Thursday.  It’s a continuation of what has been a rough stretch on the court for LeBron James’ son. As a freshman at USC last season, James, who was drafted No.55 overall by the Lakers, averaged just 4.8 points on 36.6 percent shooting. He looked overwhelmed at times during the Las Vegas Summer League in July, scoring 8.8 points per game on 35 percent shooting. Despite not looking quite up to NBA levels, the Lakers are rumored to be putting James on the court with his father in a regular season game “as soon as opening night,” according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. LeBron and Bronny would be the first father-son duo to take the court together in NBA history. “We’re going to be seeing history very, very soon,” Charania said on Get Up on Thursday....
