C.J. Mosley still a Jets injury question ahead of critical Bills showdown

Jets captain C.J.Mosley has missed the past three games dealing with a toe injury. It sounds like it could be four.

Mosley was limited in practice Friday as the Jets prepare for a game with the Bills on Monday night.Mosley said they have increased his practice reps, but he said he thinks he won’t know until Monday if he can play.“Just trying to manage kind of just how I feel,” Mosley said.“Just trying to go out there and go full speed and then I can really get a feel for how it feels after practice.

[Thursday] went pretty well.[Friday] went up a few more reps as far as practice.

I’m just trying to keep progressing and staying smart.”Mosley said the toe injury is not going away and it is going to come down to how much he can tolerate the pain and discomfort.“It’s kind of tough,” Mosley said “The spot that it’s in is just going to stay sore unless I don’t do anything to it, which I can’t do.Really, it’s more mental than physical.

The physical part is going to be there.I understand it’s going to be sore.

I think my big goal is I want to get through a normal week of practice and not really have to worry about my toe and just go out there and practice and just get ready for the game.”Jets LB Quincy Williams did not want to expand on his postgame comments from last week about the Jets needing to be more accountable.Williams ranted to SNY following the loss to the Vikings about accountability.

But when asked Friday, he said he has moved on.“I’m beyond it,” Williams said.“That game is so far behind me right now.

I’m more focused on the Monday night game for real.Right now, my preparation and everything is about the Bills.” Sign up for Inside the Jets by Brian Costello, a weekly Sports+ exclusive.
