Head north.New York is forecast to enjoy a repeat performance of last night’s northern lights this evening — but aurora borealis aficionados will need to hightail it out of the city to take in a second showing.

According to the aurora forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the rare treat will be once again on display this evening.But if you missed snapping a slew of pictures and hope to get in on the phenomenon tonight, you have a significant drive ahead of you, according to the agency.

That’s because the five boroughs aren’t likely to be twice lucky.Lake Ontario and the Adirondacks are about as far south as the magic is forecast to happen today, the experts said.
