UK zoo welcomes 2 endangered African penguin chicks named after Oasis Gallagher brothers

Chick chick hooray!A UK zoo announced the hatching of two endangered African penguin chicks named after the brothers of the English rock band Oasis.The Hertfordshire Zoo said the baby African penguins hatched in August, and “are already showing signs of independence, swaggering out of the nest earlier than expected for their species.” Liam and Noel are the first chicks hatched this year at Hertfordshire Zoo — previously known as Paradise Wildlife Park — which is located in Hertfordshire, England.An endangered species, there are around 40,000 African penguins living in the wild.The penguins at Hertfordshire Zoo were named to honor Oasis’ Gallagher brothers.“Naming them after Noel and Liam Gallagher is a nod to their mischievous and energetic spirits, mirroring the iconic rock band’s dynamic presence,” said Tom Clark, head of birds at Hertfordshire Zoo....
