History be damned.The Mets ended the Dodgers’ scoreless steak at 33 innings as Francisco Lindor crushed a leadoff homer after an eight-pitch at bat.

The 2-2 pitch was sent into the right field stands and into the Mets bullpen, which elicited a celebration as he rounded first base.The solo blast was Lindor’s second home run of the postseason and came after the Mets hadn’t scored a single run in Game 1 of the NLCS.

The Dodgers had been going for a little bit of history in Monday’s Game 2 with the chance to surpass the Orioles’ 58-year-old record for scoreless innings, but the Mets ended up denying them the chance of setting a new record.They added to their lead within the second inning, when Tyrone Taylor doubled to score Starling Marte, and Mark Vientos went deep for a grand slam to stake the Mets to a 6-0 lead.The Mets are looking to even the best-of-seven series at one game apiece before the series shifts to Queens later this week.
