Snake slithers into Dodgers dugout during Mets NLCS Game 2 win

The Dodgers had a snake problem in their dugout before dropping Game 2 of the NLCS to the Mets on Monday.A snake slithered into the Los Angeles dugout at the top of the fifth inning before the Mets beat the Dodgers, 7-3, to tie the series at a game apiece, as seen in on the Fox Sports broadcast.

“It’s a real one too — not a prank,” Joe Davis, who was calling the game, said.“We’ve got snakes on a plane, snakes on a train and the latest Hollywood hit, a snake in the dugout.”A member of the clubhouse crew was seen grabbing the snake with a towel and removing it from the dugout at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers reliever Brent Honeywell was hoping the snake’s presence sparked some momentum for his team.“I’ve seen all kinds of stuff in the dugout before, but when I walked off, I saw it was just a snake there,” Honeywell said.

“I don’t think [Dodgers bench coach Danny Lehmann] saw it…“I was hoping it was a rally snake and we turned a rally around right after that. But just something to get the boys moving a little different (after) everything else.” Honeywell knows a thing or two about these types of situations.

In 2015, he found a 10-foot alligator in a minor league dugout in Charlotte. This wasn’t the first time an animal showed up uninvited at a ballpark.
