Rolexs new Perpetual 1908 watch is made from the noblest of metals

Last year, Rolex grabbed headlines when it unveiled its Perpetual 1908 dress watch collection, named in honor of the year Hans Wilsdorf founded the iconic Swiss company.This year, the luxury brand is debuting an eye-popping new addition to the line.Rolex aficionados will immediately notice its ice-blue guilloche dial — a distinctive shade reserved for its platinum timepieces.As the brand says: “Rolex uses platinum, the noblest of metals, for the finest of watches.”The new 39 mm timepiece is fitted with a chocolatey-brown alligator strap and platinum double-folding clasp.Its steely blue dial features a rosette-like, rice-grain motif, adding a geometric textured effect.The watch’s hour and minute hands and seconds subdial add to its vintage look, but it is equipped, of course, with a state-of-the-art self-winding mechanical movement.
