Stream Branching Out's Infectious Debut EP 'all vines no leaves'

If you were excited about the Anxious album announce earlier today, you should pay attention to Branching Out.The new five-piece from Brooklyn released their debut EP all vines no leaves today, and it’s seven tracks of hooks, self-deprecating refrains, gang vocals, and pure catharsis.

The second track “Confessions Of An Aries,” which was also the band’s debut song, is a raucous delight with backing vocals masterfully screamed, especially effective when the lyrics are “I’m just not over you.” Mathy instrumentation in tunes like “Forgetting Sarah Pacini” and “Vampire Vibes” are indebted to emo revival polymaths Algernon Cadwallader and Glocca Morra.“Sunset” makes for a memorable finale, so dramatic and infectious you can imagine a crowd moshing with blissful vehemence, their hands in the air and their mouths shouting along: “Sunset/ I see you/ In my rearview!” Listen below.
