How Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld overcame bad omen Christmas gift

Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld had to think on their feet to avoid accidentally cursing each other with their Christmas gifts last year.The Bills’ star quarterback and the actress have been together since last year, but there came a point where Allen apparently expressed some concern that measures had to be taken to avoid a hex.

In a recent addition of her “Beau Society” newsletter, Steinfeld revealed that the couple coincidentally bought each other the same Miyabi Kaizen chef’s knife, which retails for about $430, for Christmas. “I got this knife for Josh last year for Christmas because cooking is something we love to do together.

For Christmas he got me…the same one in a different colorway!” Steinfeld wrote in the newsletter, as covered by Sports Illustrated.Like he does when improvising when things break down in the pocket, Allen had to think on his feet out of concern that this was a “bad omen.” “After we exchanged our knives lol, he told me there’s an old wive’s tale that if you gift your significant other a knife you have to pay for it, otherwise it signifies the severing of a relationship.So we exchanged quarters so we didn’t have that bad omen,” Steinfeld wrote.

All’s well that ends well.“Anyway, oh my God, I love this knife! I don’t know much about a chef’s knife but it is just so nice and makes me feel official,” Steinfeld continued.

 The couple is relatively private — unlike Taylor Swift, who is famously dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Steinfeld has not been shown on TV cameras at any Bills games thus far in their relationship.However, Allen did offer a brief comment about the relationship in an interview with Kay Adams in August.“We love love,” Allen said....
