Todd Chrisley fired from prison chapel job over his interactions with other inmates: attorney

Todd Chrisley can’t keep a job behind bars.The “Chrisley Knows Best” alum, who is currently serving 12 years for bank fraud and tax evasion at a minimum security federal prison, was booted from his job at the chapel for talking too much.Chrisley, 55, was fired from his chaplain’s assistant job after prison officials at the in Pensacola, Florida facility noticed that the reality star was “getting too chatty with certain inmates,” his attorney Jay Surgent told TMZ.During his short-lived stint, the father of 5 had been assisting in organizing religious services and celebrations for Christian, Muslim, and Jewish inmates, Surgent said, adding that Chrisley had been “doing a good job” prior to the firing.Surgent added that the reason for Chrisley’s abrupt firing came “without cause,” and that he will still be able to attend religious services.A FPC Pensacola spokesperson told the outlet that “for privacy reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including their work detail assignments.”Chrisley was left “very disappointed and upset that he can no longer participate in the administration of the set-up for religious services at Pensacola, which includes Christian, Jewish, and Muslim services,” Surgent told People.Still, the ordeal “has not affected his firm belief that in the end, God will work things out for him, Julie, and his family,” the star’s attorney added.The Post has reached out to FPC Pensacola and Chrisley’s reps for comment.In June 2022, a jury found Todd and his wife Julie guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.They were also found guilty of tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS. Their accountant, Peter Tarantino was also slapped with prison time.Todd is expected to be released in June 2032 while his wife is set to be released from her prison in Lexington, Kentucky in April 2028.
