Can I re-apply to a former company that I just left?

I recently left a job because there was no growth and no other suitable positions within the company. My new job is OK but not great.

Now the previous company has advertised an opening for a role I wanted before I left. It’s a quality position.

Should I apply or will they laugh me out of town?Well, you won’t know the answer to that question unless you put yourself out there and try.Keep it real.Get in touch with your former employer and say that you would never had left if there were an opportunity like this where you can grow.Explain that you love the company and this role seems like the perfect next career move. Why would they go through the trouble of searching for someone new and unproven? They hired you before and they should hire you again. They can only say no — and if they laugh at you it will be in private so you and no one else will ever know.
