Chris Hubbard gets work at left tackle as Giants ponder offensive line shakeup

There could be a change coming to the Giants’ offensive line for Monday night’s game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Chris Hubbard, who arrived last week, took snaps at left tackle Thursday during practice. “Yeah, absolutely, he’ll get reps there, and we’ll see where we’re at,’’ head coach Brian Daboll said. Hubbard, 33, was signed off the 49ers practice squad. He has 100 games of NFL experience with the Steelers, Browns and Titans.

Of his 58 starts, 51 were at right tackle.Hubbard said he played left tackle throughout the preseason this summer with the 49ers. “I feel comfortable,’’ Hubbard said.

Humphries went down to a torn ACL in Week 17 last season, and he might not be ready to play yet. “Nothing on the horizon right now,’’ Daboll said.“Had a good visit with him.

I think he’s a good football player. If it’s the right fit, we’ll work something out, and if not, we won’t.’’ Bill Belichick has used his new media platform to say wha...
