Texas Gov. Greg Abbott challenges Kamala Harris to declare Tren de Aragua a terrorist org: Americans deserve better

Texas Gov.Greg Abbott has urged Vice President Kamala Harris to designate the vicious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua a terrorist organization — as he blasted the Democratic presidential nominee over her “open border policies” that have put “the lives of every American at risk.”Abbott took the swipe at Harris — who was tasked three months into the Biden admin with handling the “root causes of migration” — ahead of her rally in Houston Friday evening.

“Vice President Kamala Harris conveniently claims she cares about securing our border, yet her open border policies have allowed over 11 million illegal immigrants and dangerous criminals, like Tren de Aragua, into our country in the last four years — putting the lives of every American at risk,” the Republican governor said.Abbott emphasized that Harris will be in the same city where 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was allegedly raped and murdered by two suspected TdA migrant gangbangers, both of whom were released into the US under the Biden-Harris admin.“Jocelyn, her family, and all Americans deserve better. Vice President Harris must follow Texas’ lead and designate Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization immediately. But that’s just a start. The Biden-Harris administration must use the full weight of the federal government to eradicate them once and for all — for Jocelyn and for every American,” he said.A spokesperson for Harris’ campaign didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.The Biden-Harris admin previously designated TdA a transnational criminal organization, but has yet to go as far as declaring any terrorist ties like Abbott has in the Lone Star State.The Department of Homeland Security has identified 600 migrants suspected of having ties to the violent prison gang, which has been involved in takeovers of apartment complexes, cop shootings, sex trafficking, robberies and gun smuggling in several US states.Harris will visit Ho...
