My sons boss was a jerk when he left the firm can he ever go back?

I saw your response regarding the person who wanted to reapply to his old firm.My son left his job for a more prestigious role in a bigger company but it is a hectic and dysfunctional office.

His previous employer wouldn’t talk to him the week before he left – wouldn’t even say goodbye. He is interested in returning to the company.

Could he do that?Sounds like a very mature-minded boss.I mean, seriously, unless your son left on bad terms, misled his boss in some way or had done something to give them reason for the cold send-off, the boss should accept that people are free agents and have to follow their journey.

It doesn’t sound likely the door is open to a return but he won’t know for sure unless he knocks.Tell him to reach out, express that he feels he made a mistake and would like to return if the opportunity arises.

The worst they can do is say no, or remain silent. So it’s worth a try.Gregory Giangrande has over 25 years of experience as a chief human resources executive.
