When Westcott tried to back out of the deal days later, blaming his mental health and alleging he agreed to the sale while recovering from surgery, they refused.In turn, both parties launched their own lawsuits against each other, with Westcott’s mental capacity taking center stage.Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner sided with Perry in November 2023, ruling that Westcott did not have substantial evidence to support his claim that he lacked the mental capacity to enter into a contract over the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate.However, the legal fight continued as Perry claimed Westcott owns her millions in damages on the property — and the number keeps increasing.At first, she requested $2.67 million for loss of use, citing she was unable to rent out the mansion during their court feud.
