Former President Donald Trump made breakthrough gains with Hispanics nationwide and substantially improved his standing with black voters in swing states in the 2024 election, according to exit polls. Hispanic men supported Trump on Election Day over Vice President Kamala Harris by a stunning 10-point margin, according to an NBC News exit poll. The former president received 54% support from Hispanic men compared to Harris’ 44% backing. By comparison, Joe Biden won Latino males by a 23-point margin (59%-36%) in the 2020 contest. Harris, 60, also hemorrhaged support from Hispanic women. The vice president received 62% support from Latinas, down from Biden’s 69% backing in 2020, the NBC News exit poll showed. Harris’ 25-point edge over Trump with Hispanic females was notably lower than Biden’s 39-point advantage in 2020. Overall, Trump won 45% of Hispanic voters nationwide compared to Harris’ 53% share, according to an exit poll conducted by Edison Research.However, Trump’s share with Hispanics of both genders was up 13 percentage points compared to the pollster’s 2020 exit survey.
