The former child stars of “The Brady Bunch” have weighed in on one of the show’s biggest plot holes.Stars Barry Williams, Eve Plumb and Christopher Knight dropped by NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday and discussed the mysterious disappearance of the Brady family’s dog, Tiger, after host Carson Daly brought the beloved pet up.Surprisingly, not even the Brady kids know what happened to their cherished dog, who stopped appearing on the show after its second season without any explanation.
And it turns out Tiger wasn’t the only Brady pet to go missing during the show’s five-season run from 1969 to 1974.Plumb, who played middle child Jan, pointed out that in the series pilot episode, the Brady girls — Marsha, Jan and Cindy — had a cat, Fluffy, who was never seen again.Family pets in the Brady household “just sort of faded away,” Plumb, 66, noted.Knight, 67, who played Peter Brady on the iconic sitcom, was particularly struck by Daly’s observation.
“Watching the early shows with Tiger, Tiger’s an important element, you’re right,” said the actor, who has been rewatching the series with co-star Williams, 70, on their podcast, “The Real Brady Bros.” “And he just disappears.”“Continuity was not one of the strong points of our show,” quipped Williams, who played the oldest Brady brother, Greg.“And so one day he’s there, one day he’s not there.”Speaking of missing members of the Brady family, Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady), Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady), and Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady) — who last month said a revival of “The Brady Bunch” was canceled because of her support for Donald Trump — did not join their TV siblings on Thursday’s “Today” broadcast.
