To have and to hold, in sickness and in health — whether you remember or not.A Utah couple’s love story included a breakup, dramatic accident, memory loss and a heartfelt reunion, which many online are likening to a plot straight out of a Hallmark movie.Jenna Brotherson married her now-husband Mitchell seven months after breaking up — but only because a concussion caused him to forget they weren’t together.“When people ask us about our love story it’s our favorite part to tell,” she said.Jenna and Mitchell, now both 27, had been friends for several months before they started dating.But in February 2020, Jenna called things off with her then-boyfriend because she was “too overwhelmed with life.” The next day, Mitchell was skiing at Utah’s Beaver Mountain when he attempted a flip, blacked out and woke up while paramedics were taking him to the hospital.

He suffered a severe concussion and immediately called Jenna asking her to pick him up because he couldn’t drive.“I’m like, ‘Why is he messaging me this? I just broke up with him,'” Jenna recalls in a video posted to TikTok.It turns out, Mitchell’s concussion had caused him to forget they had parted ways.“Mitch kept messaging me and trying to hang out after his concussion and I was confused as to why he would keep messaging me because we had broken up,” she told People.

“I thought that maybe he took the statement of staying friends really seriously.It even was to the point when I told him that my roommates and I had a hard day and he came and brought us ice cream.”Jenna very quickly realized that had made a mistake ending her romance with Mitchell and appreciated how “kind and thoughtful” he continued to be.
