Burglars steal jewelry, Gucci items from FedEx, UPS trucks in 3-borough NYC spree

A group of five masked burglars stole a stash of jewelry, Gucci products and other loot worth more than $64,000 from the back of UPS and FedEx trucks in a stealthy three-borough spree, cops and sources said. The string of thefts began on April 1, when a single burglar raided a UPS truck on West 48th Street near Sixth Avenue in Midtown, a short walk from Rockefeller Center, around 7:45 p.m.April 1, authorities said.Cops say the culprit bagged 84 packages during the heist – but it was unclear what they held, or the value of the items inside. Then on May 10, two brazen broad-daylight crooks barged into a FedEx truck parked on Washington Street near West 13th Street in the Meatpacking District, just under the High Line, cops said. They snatched up eight Gucci boxes holding about $29,730 in designer loot from the truck during the 12:20 p.m.
