Dwayne Johnson rocks the box office once again with Christmas action comedy Red One

It’s already Jingle Bell Rock-ing the box office.The Christmas action comedy “Red One” — starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — flew to the top of the box office on its opening night Friday, with close to $11 million in sales, according to The Numbers.Johnson, who plays the head of North Pole security trying to locate a kidnapped Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, is hoping the movie, which was at first only intended for streaming, will be released in Imax theaters.“With ‘Red One,’ our intention was to make a movie that you can enjoy on the biggest screen possible,” Johnson told Imax.“Legitimately, the biggest screens possible are Imax.”Some failed to find any holiday magic in the flick, which was released in 4,032 theaters.“For the most wonderful time of the year comes the worst movie of the year,” The Post said in its review of the film, which cost a staggering $250 million to make and is projected to have a measly $30 million-dollar opening.

Sauntering into second place this Friday was “Venom: The Last Dance,” which moved up a notch from last week, with earnings of $1.575 million.The superhero flick, which opened on Oct.25, has already passed $400 million in worldwide earnings.

Landing in the third spot was the horror film “Heretic,” with just over $1.3 million in revenue on its second Friday in theaters.During its opening weekend alone, the movie, which stars Hugh Grant, earned back its production budget, which was less than $10 million.“The Wild Robot” remained in fourth, with a $900,000 take.The family adventure film has already surpassed the $300 million mark at the global box office.“Conclave,” which The Post called a “juicy new Vatican thriller,” landed in fifth, with sales of $790,000....
