Chuck Woolery, original Wheel of Fortune host, dead at 83

Legendary game show host Chuck Woolery, who was the first host of “Wheel of Fortune,” died Saturday.He was 83.Woolery’s death was announced by his friend and podcast co-host Mark Young in an X post.“It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away.

Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother,” Dr.Mark Young wrote.Although they would quickly call 911, Woolery was not able to be saved.Woolery got his big career break in 1975 when he was named host of “Wheel of Fortune.”He would hold that gig until 1981, when Pat Sajak would take over.Woolery would later host shows like “Love Connection,” “Scrabble,” and a revival of “The Dating Game.”Chuck Woolery is survived by his wife Kim and his children, Katherine, Melissa, Michael and Sean.No cause of death is presently known....
