Son bailed out for attacking, kidnapping mom now suspect in murder of an opera singer: cops

A Colorado man out on bail for allegedly beating and kidnapping his mom is now being hunted as the likely “armed and dangerous” suspect in the murder of a professional opera singer.Ceasar Lorenzo Wilson, 53, was already being sought since August for skipping court for the attack on his mom, who says “he just went crazy” and locked her in her home while slapping her — then threatened to pepper spray cops during a one-hour standoff, according to an affidavit obtained by the Denver Gazette.Last week, cops identified him as the suspect in the murder of Haleh Abghari, 54, a University of Colorado voice instructor who was found dead inside her Colorado Springs apartment on Aug.7, when Wilson was free on bail for the earlier arrest.He is wanted for second-degree murder — and should be considered “armed and dangerous,” according to local authorities.Abghari, a native of Iran, was found with at least one stab wound, according to authorities, who have not released the exact cause of death.Police have not speculated on a possible motive nor said if Abghari and Wilson knew each other.

Wilson was already facing charges of second-degree kidnapping as well as assault and harassment for the attack on his mom on July 7, a month before his court no show. The mom said her son “just went crazy” and started slapping her during a conversation about their family, then dragged her back inside when she tried to leave, the court documents said.He locked all the doors and taped the windows, the local outlet said.The mom, who was not otherwise identified, managed to eventually sneak out a back door and climb over a fence to raise the alarm, the documents stated.
