What’s old seems to be new again for the Jets. After NFL insider Dianna Russini floated the idea of the Jets looking at former head coach and current Fox analyst Eric Mangini over the weekend, Mangini addressed the topic during an appearance on “The Heard” on Monday. “I obviously am not lobbying for the job, but I feel pretty good about what I did while I was there,” he told host Colin Cowherd.“We just had three of those guys that I’ve coached go into the Jets ring of honor and I think we were a smart, disciplined, tough team.

While the Jets finished 10-6 his first year there, the team failed to make another playoff appearance during his tenure nor did they record another double-digit win season. Tannenbaum was the Jets’ GM from 2006-2012.If Mangini does want the job, he’s being a lot more lowkey about it than another ex-Jet coach has been. Rex Ryan has been openly lobbying for the head coach job with the Jets in media appear...
