Aspiring CHP cop rescues driver, 75, with help of 6-year-old daughter after rollover crash into canal: There at the exact right time

An aspiring cop rescued an elderly driver who crashed into an irrigation canal Monday with the help of his eagled-eyed 6-year-old daughter, California authorities said.Cyle Johnson and his wife Ashley Martin were visiting a home in Live Oak when their little girl, Cayleigh saw a car roll over as she played in the front yard, according to the California Highway Patrol.Motorist Robbie Carpenter, 75, landed upside down with her head submerged in about 2 feet of water from a recent rainstorm.After Cayleigh alerted her parents, they sprang into action.Johnson, 28, jumped into the canal and unlocked the front door where Carpenter was underwater and unresponsive, authorities said.An unknown passerby stopped and helped him cut the septuagenarian’s seatbelt to pull her from the vehicle.“We were there at the exact right time because it could have been 10 seconds, and her life could be gone,” said Martin, who dialed 911 during the emergency, according to KCRA.Carpenter was taken to a local hospital with only minor injuries.“Had it not been for the heroic actions of Cyle, Ashley, and their daughter, this would have been a much different outcome,” CHP said.

“We applaud the life-saving actions demonstrated by this family!”This is the second person the Marysville family has saved in as many months after they helped the crash victim of a wrong-way driver on Oct.13, law enforcement said.The family received congressional recognition from Rep.
