Trevor Lawrence provides uplifting update after suffering dangerous hit against Texans

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence said he’s “feeling better” after an ugly hit by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. Lawrence made his first comment since the hit earlier on Sunday in a 23-20 loss to Houston in a post on X hours after his wife, Marissa, spoke out about his status. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out / been praying for me.I’m home and feeling better.

Means a lot, thank you all,” he wrote. Earlier, Marissa had also expressed her gratitude for the support fans had shown following the hit. “Thank you for all the texts and prayers,” she wrote.“Just taking time to make sure he’s okay and get(s) healthy but we appreciate all the support and love.”Lawrence had been seen leaving the Jaguars locker room with his wife after the game. Al-Shaair laid the hit on Lawrence when he scrambled on a second-and-6. Lawrence had gone to slide when the linebacker hit him in a defenseless position as the Jaguars quarterback was going down. Lawrence was down on the field for several minutes before he was helped up and placed in the front seat of a cart. He was ruled out of the rest of the game with a concussion. “Well, look, it’s a play that nobody wants to see in our league obviously because you see what happens after the fact and it just escalates,” Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said.
