The best new and updated Miami hotels for 2024

As the glitterati descend on Miami for Art Week, a raft of luxe hotels have glammed up to serve their eclectic tastes.Here are a few of our new — and updated — favorites.Kudos to Dallas developer Brady Wood for reinventing the concept of a hotel.

Set inside a century-old neoclassical furniture showroom, the Moore Miami began its second life in April as a private club, with high-net-worth members arriving to work, play and mingle with their stylish peers in this Design District bolthole.Now they can also dine at Elastika (open to the public), set beneath a site-specific sculpture that local icon Craig Robins commissioned from architect Zaha Hadid for the first Art Basel Miami in 2005.

In October, Wood completed his vision for the space by adding 15 ultraluxe suites on the fourth floor that start at 700 square feet and offer access to all the amenities of the club — like the late-night speakeasy The Rabbit Hole, the karaoke room, the library and the photo booth.The waitlist for the club is long, so book a room to peek behind the curtain … you never know whom you might snag for a selfie.Well, hello, sailor! This downtown Arquitectonica-designed retreat is the first upscale hotel to anchor beside Port Miami, so you can watch the ships set sail at sunset.

The sleek tower has 300 understated blue-and-cream rooms that overlook the city and the harbor, along with a splashy scene at the 9th-floor rooftop swim club.But the real action during Basel is at the hidden speakeasy, which the Gale will “activate” for guests and residents only.
