Jets Morgan Moses wearing a cast on wrist in effort to play through injury

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.— Jets right tackle Morgan Moses has played through knee and shoulder injuries, and now he is going to add wrist to that list. Moses injured his left wrist during the pregame warm-ups last week in Miami.

He took a painkilling shot to play in that game but exited early in the second half. The wrist is not broken but is about twice the size of his right wrist. On Friday, Moses said, “It’s [bleeped] up.” Moses will wear a cast to play against the Jaguars.

He downplayed battling through the injury. “It’s not really bouncing back, bro,” he said.“Just wearing a cast and going out there and playing.” Though Moses does not want to pat himself on the back, his coaches and teammates have been wowed by Moses’ toughness this year as he has battled through injury after injury. “Morgan Moses is another bright spot of this season, just named him the fifth captain for this game,” interim coach Jeff Ulbrich said.

“He’s one of those rare human beings that could play in any era of football, I don’t care if it’s the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, he just has a level of toughness that is just rare, you know, it’s rare.He would play with anything.

He’d play with one of his arms falling [off], it doesn’t matter, like he is down for whatever. “I think he has an authentic toughness about him and he would just do that anyway, but I also feel like he really feels this real obligation to his teammates and real love for his teammates and by going out and playing every week, even when he’s hurt, it’s the way he demonstrates that. It’s just so rare and it’s we’re just so fortunate to have him on this team.” The Jets ruled CB D.J.
