An elderly straphanger was randomly shoved onto subway tracks at the Herald Square station in Manhattan on Sunday afternoon, according to police.The 72-year-old victim was standing on the northbound F train platform at the 34th Street-Herald Square station around 12:15 p.m.

In October, another transit nut was charged with attempted murder for pushing an 82-year-old woman onto the tracks at a No.7 train station in Flushing, Queens, injuring the victim.City officials note that crime is down in the Big Apple but have acknowledged that there is still a perception of fear among many New Yorkers who ride the subways.
