Jets Week 15 report card: Offense coming alive made ugly defensive outing an afterthought

Grading the Jets’ 32-25 road win over the Jaguars on Sunday:It looked ugly in the first half, but then the Jets came alive in the second half.The combination of QB Aaron Rodgers (16 of 30, 289 yards, 3 TDs, 120 rating) and WR Davante Adams (9 catches, 198 yards, 2 TDs) turned back the clock to their Green Bay days and took over the game.Rodgers also did it with his legs, leading the team in rushing with 45 yards on six scrambles.

The Jaguars have the worst defense in football, so we’ll grade on a curve, but the Jets managed 400 total yards and they scored 30 points for the first time this season.Grade: BThis was another ugly performance that is going to get downplayed because the Jets found a way to win.But Jaguars QB Mac Jones (31 of 46, 294 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 81.2 rating) carved them up at times.Rookie WR Brian Thomas Jr.(10 catches, 105 yards 2 TDs) had a big game against them.

The good was the Jets came up with the stop on the final series with CB Sauce Gardner recording his first interception since 2022 to seal the game.The Jets had two interceptions, doubling their total for the season.Grade: C-Ashtyn Davis made one of the plays of the game with his 21-yard run on a fake punt on the Jets’ first series of the game.

Anders Carlson missed a 48-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that would have cut into the Jaguars’ lead.He made a 43-yard field goal earlier.

The Jets were good in coverage despite missing some of their best coverage players — Irv Charles and Brandin Echols.Grade: BThe halftime adjustments worked.The Jets played a terrible first half and then rebounded in the second half to win the game.
