Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose “has movement in all extremities” after taking a scary hit to the head in Sunday’s loss to the Texans, when he was stretchered off and admitted to a local Houston hospital. The Dolphins provided an update Monday morning on the second-year receiver, who remained hospitalized overnight for evaluation following helmet contact with Texans safety Calen Bullock in the second half of the Week 15 contest.“After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight. He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results.
He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation,” the Dolphins said in a statement.Play at NRG Stadium was halted for about 10 minutes Sunday as medical personnel tended to DuBose, 23, whose jersey was cut off and had a brace placed around his neck.Dolphins players and head coach Mike McDaniel gathered together as DuBose was taken off the field on a stretcher.“There’s no real formula, it’s always difficult.I think it’s difficult for both teams in those scenarios,” McDaniel said of completing the game.
“There’s nothing I can say or anything. You just have a lot of prideful guys trying to go back to work and I think motivated just by knowing Grant and how he’d want us to finish the game.“I think it’s unfortunately something that you have to go through once in a while in the game.
It’s not easy, and our hearts and thoughts and prayers are with him.”Bullock, who was called for unnecessary roughness, offered prayers to DuBose and his loved ones after the Texans’ 20-12 win.“First off, my intention was never to go out there and hurt nobody. That’s none of our intentions,” Bullock said.
“So prayers to him and his family.I hope he’s good.”A seventh-round pick out of Charlotte in 2023, DuBose began his NFL career with the Packers but was released in August.
